Emily Blauel, MD
Emily graduated from SUNY Downstate Medical School in 2014, followed by completion of Pediatric Residency at Columbia University in 2017. She is currently a 3rdyear Hematology/Oncology fellow at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She joined the Diskin lab and Maris lab during her 2ndyear of fellowship, and is currently studying heritable genomic aberrations in cancer predisposition genes in neuroblastoma patients and their families. When she’s not in lab, she’s seeing patients in the clinic and hospital, an experience that fuels her interest in research. As a mother to three young children (toddler twins, Adalyn and Jackson, and infant, Bennett) and a middle-aged cockapoo (Baxter, who keeps wondering why more children show up at home), Emily is one hard working (and tired) gal.
